What is Bowen Therapy

What is Bowen therapy

Bowen Therapy is a gentle, holistic approach that works with the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance. Using subtle movements over muscles and connective tissue, it stimulates the nervous system and encourages the body to release tension and reset itself.

Rather than forcing change, Bowen invites the body to respond in its own time. The pauses between movements are an important part of the process, giving the nervous system space to integrate the signals and direct healing where it is most needed.

Because Bowen works holistically, changes may occur beyond the area being treated, supporting physical, emotional and overall wellbeing. Many people experience a sense of deep relaxation, lightness and calm following a session.

Treatments are performed through light clothing, with blankets available if needed.

Why choose Bowen?

Many people choose Bowen Therapy because it is gentle and involves no forceful manipulation, making it suitable for all ages, from babies through to the elderly.

Its simplicity gives the body space to respond, without over-treatment or unnecessary intervention.

Above all, Bowen supports the body’s own intelligence, allowing it to restore balance in its own way and time.
